Halloween, meglio nota come Samhain, è il Capodanno delle Streghe e dei Pagani, uno dei due principali Festival (Sabbat) per i pagani e le streghe.

Samhain e Beltane sono agli estremi opposti della Ruota dell'Anno Magico delle streghe, e queste due date sono le migliori per lavorare (magicamente e non) con gli Spiriti.

Samhain è il tempo in cui il Velo fra il nostro mondo e l'Altro Mondo (conosciuto come Sidhe) si assottiglia, gli esseri fatati e gli spiriti dei defunti possono attraversare il velo con maggiore facilità, passando da un mondo all'altro muovendosi liberamente. E' anche il periodo in cui le visioni e la divinazione sono maggiormente chiare.

Samhain è la festa in cui si celebra la Morte, e si onorano i defunti. Il tempo in cui ci si collega agli antenati, alle persone amate che sono passate oltre e non sono più sulla terra, e in cui li si invita a tornare nelle nostre vite ancora una volta.
